The Post Apocalyptic Inventor or TPAI

This is a science and technology channel mainly focused on electrical and mechanical engineering, but there is a lot more. It is a treasure chest of information on how things work and how to build all kinds of mech-tech items. The Inventor is very intelligent and possesses an excellent teaching ability. He takes the difficult and mysterious and somehow makes it understandable. This channel is definitely worth subscribing to and maybe even throwing some cash his way via PayPal. You will not be disappointed, and you got to love the channel name!

Mr. Carlson's Lab

This is a wonderful YouTube channel called Mr. Carlson's Lab, which is an Electronic "how to," with random projects that Paul Carlson shares with the rest of the world. Mr. Carlson is an excellent instructor, who often goes deep into detail of how a particular circuit works or how to perform a test that will make your repairs faster and easier. He also has an electronics shop to die for. Make sure you watch his tour. If you are into electronics, this channel will quickly become a favorite.

Mickes Arcade

I stumbled across this website while looking for resources for switching power supplies. Mike has a great assortment of tutorials and repair manuals for all the old arcade games that us adults in there 50's and 60's grew up with as teenagers. He also sells hard to find parts for the coin-operated arcade games, joysticks, trackballs, chip upgrades, and artwork from those days. If you have any interest in the old arcade games or are involved in restoring a unit, check Mick's website out.

Future Timeline

Futurology, the study of what the future life could hold considering the social, technological, and geopolitical actions has always fascinated me. I stumbled across the FutureTimeline.net website while doing research on the possibilities of the United State's Southwest and California areas becoming part of Mexico in the very distant future (2080 or so). It is an interesting website and one that deserves to be taken a look at. Ohcourse the farther we look into the future, the less likely predictions will become reality. Let me know what you think of some of the predictions.

Elliott Sound Products

Elliott Sound Products, a website run by Rod Elliott, provides a vast array of interesting, educational, and useful articles including over 100 do it yourself (DIY) electronic projects, most dealing with audio and power supplies. One of his articles concerns the compact florescent light (CFL) debate. Compact florescent lights are now mandatory in Australia where Rod lives. His analysis contains a great deal of technical detail and prompts good questions concerning the wisdom of this world-wide movement, including what is happening to the people who work at the factories in China where the bulbs are produced. You will also find the PC boards and other items used in the projects for sale on the website.

This Website is much more than atomic rockets. It is a wealth of information and documentation on how rockets work, what science fiction has to say about rockets and the future. Great site and a wonderful resource.

This is a fantastic free resource for finding operator and service manuals for all kinds of electronic devices. There are thousands of manuals for all kinds devices from televisions to test instruments. If you have a manual upload it, if you need a manual, download it. Check it out, you may find it useful if you repair electronics or just looking for that owner’s manual you have lost.

This Website is a virtual reference on how to build or create just about anything. There are thousands of how to do videos with Adobe Acrobat (PDF) instructions. Some of the projects are very useful, others are interesting, and some just dumb. Warning, once you go to this Website, you will spend a lot of time browsing and watching videos. I always find something new and interesting each time I visit the site.

Internet Trivia...

You can thank the Cold War for the Internet. It was conceived by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the late 1960s for the United States military to maintain tactical communications between military sites in the event of an atomic attack.

It was called the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network or ARPANET for short. Once the domain of only the military and universities, it eventually became public and became the Internet.
